Katy Kauffman - The Real Slim Katy

Katy fell in love with dancing at a young age.

She was born and raised in Hershey, PA.  As a young dancer, Katy began her pre-professional training at Harrisburg Dance Conservatory.  After years of training in a classical ballet conservatory setting, she began honing in on her versatility, taking classes in jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and tap. She also trained at various intensives, including Pennsylvania Regional Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet.

Katy attended Towson University on scholarship, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a  B.F.A. in Dance Performance and a B.S. in Mass Communication - Advertising/PR Dual Track.  Throughout her time at Towson University, Katy had the privilege of learning from an amazing faculty of artists.. She was President and Founding Member of The National Honors Society of Dance Arts, received the Tolbert Memorial Scholarship for Dance Excellence and was recognized as "Top 100 Women in Leadership" at Towson University.  Katy was also a featured soloist and dance captain in the Towson University Dance Company productions.

Upon graduation, Katy moved to New York City and submerged herself in the dance industry. She found herself in Billy Griffin’s theatre jazz class one day at Steps on Broadway, where she fell headfirst for the art of storytelling. This was the moment she set her sights on the broadway stage and began taking voice lessons and honing in on her theatre training. This past summer, Katy made her musical theatre debut at Walnut Street and Riverside Theatres’ co-production of Legally Blonde:The Musical! Other noteworthy credits include Hersheypark's mainstage show, Dance, Dance, Dance: Heartbeat! directed/choreographed by Chip Abbott (RWS Entertainment Group) and dancing Billy Griffin's choreography in a commercial for Isaac Mizrahi's new pants line.

She is currently performing in Westchester Broadway Theatre’s production of American in Paris in the dance ensemble, while understudying her first lead role, Lise Dassin!
